Is your relationship strong enough to NOT read this?

Let’s jump straight in!

Communication

Effective communication is the foundation of a healthy relationship. It’s important to be able to openly and honestly communicate your thoughts, feelings, and needs with your partner. This is a skill that gets better with practice so don’t wait to be perfect.

Trust

Trust is essential in any relationship. It’s important to trust your partner and to be trustworthy yourself. This means being honest and transparent in your actions and interactions, and respecting each other’s boundaries and privacy. Few things feel worse than being accused of doing things that you are not doing. Trust your partner and don’t do things to lose your partners trust.

Respect

Respect is another key ingredient in a healthy relationship. This means treating your partner with kindness, consideration, and empathy, and valuing their thoughts, feelings, and opinions. This is often the first sign of a future failed relationship. If there is no respect in the relationship it is all but over. To prevent this focus on ensuring you ensure your partner feels respected by you.

Compromise

In any relationship, there will be times when you and your partner have different wants, needs, or perspectives. It’s important to be willing to compromise and to find solutions that work for both of you. You cannot always be right. Sometimes it’s more important to let your partner get what they are asking for.

Support

A healthy relationship is one in which both partners support each other and help each other grow. This means offering emotional support, encouragement, and motivation, and being there for each other through good times and bad. Especially the bad times. This is when you can demonstrate your actual commitment to the relationship so don’t squander those opportunities.

Space

It’s important to respect each other’s need for space and independence in a relationship. Giving each other space to pursue your own interests, hobbies, and goals can help prevent resentment and maintain a healthy balance in the relationship.

Honesty

Honesty is essential in a healthy relationship. This means being open and transparent about your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and not keeping secrets or withholding important information from your partner. It means being true to yourself and to your partner.

Empathy

In a healthy relationship, both partners should be able to show empathy and understand each other’s perspective. Partners should also be able to read each other. To know when the other is going through something difficult. Pay attention to the little things. The smile, the shoulders and any change in interests. Empty and communication go hand in hand so sometimes it’s important to check in and see how things are going.

Acceptance

Acceptance is the willingness to accept and love your partner for who they are, even with their flaws and imperfections. It’s important to accept each other’s differences and to celebrate what makes each of you unique. Don’t try and change your partner. It won’t work. If you can’t accept your partner as they are now, then it’s best to move on as they are not right for you.

Love:

Finally, Love is the foundation of a healthy relationship. It’s important to show love and affection to your partner, and to make them feel it. It’s not just a word. Love is primarily expressed in actions. It’s the things you do day in day out that demonstrate how you feel about your partner.
